What People Are Saying

“Every now and then I get a collection oftunes that are infused with nitroglycerin.Chris Daniels and The Kings with Freddi Gowdy is one such incendiary delight. “Blues with Horns is a recipe for jumping out of your skin and dancing around in your bones.”
John Apice, No Depression Magazine

"In my 5 years of doing this event, I have never seen so many people dancing."
Eric Lazzari, Director of Programming & Events City of Denver

“Blues With Horns is the band’s strongest album to date, and the packaging by famed artist Greg Carr, who did all the award-winning packaging for Steve Martin, The Kingston Trio, Devotchka and many others, make this a “must have”recording for music lovers of all ages and interests.”
Blues Festival Guide 2024

“To call Chris Daniels and the Kings with Freddi Gowdy a Colorado institution might be a bit of an understatement. Daniels has been a fixture in the local music scene since 1984, fronting the most prolific rhythm and blues horn-driven band in the region without missing a step—even when he battled Leukemia back in 2011. After clearing that tough hurdle, Daniels was back onstage, getting audiences on their feet and securing a place in the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2018 and now releasing his forty-year celebration album,40: Blues With Horns Volume II.”
French Davis, Yellow Scene Magazine

“They possess the exuberance of ‘Tower of Power’ with the grit of ‘Blood Sweat and Tears’ and smoothness of ‘The Average White Band.”
Brian Harman, Blues In The South
